Hiru FM Website Wins the Manthan Award 2011
3CS is proud to have developed the official website of Hiru FM, which was recently awarded the Manthan Award for Best Entertainment Website in South Asia. The CEO of 3CS, Sandaruwan Madduma Bandara, the software developer, Harsha Chathuranga Thilakaratne, and the Programme Manager of Asia Broadcasting Corporation, Chamila Prasad Karunarathne, received the award on the 2nd of December 2011, at the Manthan Award Festival 2011 in New Delhi, India.
The Hiru FM website offers visitors a variety of entertainment options. An online chatting facility which allows listeners to chat with DJs while they are on air, downloadable audio segments of popular radio programmes, a gossip page, a voting facility for Sri Lanka’s most popular chart show and an Entertainers’ Area are some of the features that are offered by the website.
The website was ranked as the 67th most-visited website in the country by Alexa, with the response from the audience being overwhelming. Over 20,000 fans have joined Hiru FM’s Facebook fan page within the short time period of a year. The website was also praised by the grand jury for providing an opportunity for Sri Lankans residing in foreign countries to listen to Sinhala music and to interact with DJs and fans in Sri Lanka.
